4,515 players rated. 804 carry a recorded World Cup appearance, from the 2023 and 2019 squads. Squad strength does not feed the match predictions.

A player is left out only where a source says his Test career is over — the years on the national-team row of his Wikipedia article, where a closed span means retired. That reaches under a third of the players on file, so anyone else stays selectable and the list carries names their country would not pick today. How long ago each was last named in a recorded matchday squad is published beside him rather than used to rule him out: retirement and going unpicked are different things, and a player can be out of a side for years and come back. The check could be run on 1,377 of the 4,754 players on file, and ruled out 239.

Club and caps describe each player as at 19 October 2026; ages are at 17 October 2026, the newest match on record. Read from Wikipedia and refreshed weekly, so a transfer announced since is not yet reflected. A cap count shown as ≥n was counted from the matchday squads on record rather than read from a profile, and is a floor.
